What We Do
The Association has an eight-member Board of Directors that meet monthly along with many committees that advocate on behalf of our members in areas of interest to the membership and the agricultural community. The reintroduction of wolves has been at the forefront of our minds over the last couple of years and we will continue to invest time, money and resources to address this issue. The Association has worked to protect the Gunnison Sage Grouse species to ensure listing status and follow any potential litigation, engage in political lobbying at the State level regarding important issues affecting the agricultural community, monitor water issues, and are making sure agriculture needs are met in the recreational realm as well. GCSA has a representative on the Gunnison County Sustainable Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Committee, the Gunnison Sage Grouse Strategic Committee, and the Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy District.
Our Commitment
The GCSA provides scholarships for local graduates and supports the Gunnison County 4-H program by providing sponsorships and hosting the Gunnison Valley Born and Raised class at the Gunnison Junior Livestock Show. We are working to support ag related education for our members and the community and our annual banquet held in the summer brings the ag community together.
